Teaching Children using Object Lesson

Object Lesson has been a very effective way of teaching young people. They help to make our teachings come to life in a visual way, making what we have to say easier to both understand & remember. More than just a visual, an object lesson draws a truth from something we are showing or doing.

Do you know that God Jehovah himself use it to bring a point across to His children? One good example is how God ask Jeremiah to go the Potter’s house and showed him the process of making pot using clay and then delivered the message.

Jeremiah 18:1-6:
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message." So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the LORD came to me: "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

Jesus Himself taught using object lessons. Jesus often used the objects at hand around Him to teach people about God and His Kingdom. When He was by a well, He used water. After He fed 5000 people, He taught them about the bread of life.

Object lesson is not just for children alone. It can be used for youth and adults too.

So make your teaching deliverable fun though object lesson.

Anyway, the boy in the picture above is Caleb. He is so cute and adorable.
