Anger Management

There are many possible reasons for anger outbursts. A generally high level of stress is one good reason. Anger can burst merely by simple triggers: angry if there's no milk in the fridge, angry if you forget something, angry if someone doesn't say yes to all your requests, that kind of thing.

Someone once said, a match stick has a head but not a brain. How true it is to reflect a state of person when they are in uncontrollable anger situation.

According to American Psychological Association website, “Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. And it can make you feel as though you're at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful emotion”

I believe the Bible has the answer for all life’s question. In Ephesians 4:26-27, Paul says “In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.”

Paul was quoting Psalms 4:4 when he says, “In your anger do not sin”. James wrote in James 1:19-20, “My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.”

Oh well, being a human, it is normal for us to be angry but we need to be always on guard with our anger. Let not our anger in-turn used by the devil for its own advantage.

Anger is not good for health. Anger is "an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage," according to Charles Spielberger, PhD, a psychologist who specializes in the study of anger. Like other emotions, it is accompanied by physiological and biological changes; when you get angry, your heart rate and blood pressure go up, as do the levels of your energy hormones and adrenaline.

The wisdom writer writes in Proverbs 29:11: "A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control".

So next time when you are angry, remember the match stick quote.
